Jezerca
Number 2 among the highest mountains in Albania is Jezerca. It is situated on the border between the districts of Shkodra and Tropoja (between the upper course of the Valbona River in the east and the Thethi valley in the west). Meanwhile, it also holds a record, it is the highest peak of the Albanian Alps with a height of 8838 ft (2694 meters) and the second-highest peak in Albania after Korab. Besides, it is Europe's 28th most prominent peak and one of the most difficult and dangerous peaks in the Albanian Alps.
Like the whole alpine mountain block in which it is located, Jezerca has the appearance of a dome with very steep and bare slopes. The top of Jezerca rises vertically in the shape of a pyramid, dominating the entire space between Thethi and Valbona. Jezerca is a large rocky peak of dolomitic limestone so there is almost no vegetation there. It takes about 10 hours to reach the summit and return; start hiking early in the morning. It would be ideal if you had your helmet because you would be able to protect your head if rocks fell unexpectedly during all of the paths.
