Jokulsarlon, Iceland
In most parts of Iceland, you can see the northern lights, but your best option is to stay outside of Reykjavik and travel to the remote southern areas, where the sky is the darkest, such as the Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon.
The lagoon is a beautiful natural setting with boat trips over floating icebergs, but because it is in the far southeast part of the nation, it is an excellent place for viewing the northern lights. While Iceland is recognized for its opportunities to see the Northern Lights, there are several weather conditions that might prevent you from seeing them. Even during the best viewing window from September to April, rain, snow, and gloomy conditions are all issues. As a result, you should spend a few extra days in Iceland to optimize your chances. To pass the time, going on a trip to the Blue Lagoon or a glacier trek are good suggestions.
