Svalbard, Norway
The northern lights may be seen in various sites throughout Norway, but Svalbard is the best. Svalbard is a large island between Norway and the North Pole, with some of the darkest skies in the world to welcome the aurora Borealis vibrant colors.
Because the islands are completely dark between November and February, you may look for the light display even during the day, increasing your chances even more. A trip to Svalbard to see the northern lights is not for the faint of heart. Keep in mind that while the northern lights will be stunning, you will be in the middle of nowhere. For some, the region's untouched beauty adds to the attractiveness of the trip. While the best months to visit are November through February, you may also see the blue Arctic light on the islands during the fringe months of this window, at the end of February and in October.
