Kodaiji
To honor Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of Japan's greatest historical leaders, Kodaiji is a well-known temple in Kyoto. Some sources claim that the widow of a warrior who perished in war constructed the Kodaiji temple in 1606 as a memorial. With richly painted rooms and a setting of picturesque Zen gardens, Kodaji Temple was constructed in accordance with the Rinzai style of Zen Buddhism.
Today, visitors to the temple frequently stop by to take in the serene ambiance of the nearby tomb, learn about Japanese history, and enjoy the traditional gardens. You should go to this temple in the fall when the garden is illuminated for the festival of the same name. Another highly charming scene that creates an everlasting impression on tourists is the crimson maple leaves gradually falling to the ground. Visitors can also see the little museum here that showcases Kodaij artifacts.
