Krakow Witkin Gallery
The ADAA and IFPDA-member Krakow Witkin Gallery first started showing artwork in 1959, and it has been in its current 10 Newbury Street, Boston location ever since. The gallery has formerly been known as the Carriage House Gallery, Parker 470, Barbara Krakow Gallery, Harcus Krakow Gallery, Harcus Krakow Rosen Sonnabend, and Gallery. The Krakow Witkin Gallery is dedicated to a wide-ranging but narrowly concentrated collection of artists who are associated with the movements known as "Minimalism" and/or "conceptual art," as well as more contemporary artists who have gained notoriety since the 1960s with reductivist aesthetics.
The exhibition schedule of the gallery features three exhibitions running concurrently with six to seven rotations from September to July. One major show, one smaller show, and one show of a single work are presented during each cycle. This juxtaposition of exhibition styles offers visitors three distinct, academic environments in which to evaluate the work and consider diverse presentational concepts.
