KTH Royal Institute of Technology
Stockholm's KTH Royal Institute of Technology is a public research institution. KTH is Sweden's largest technical university, doing engineering and technology research and instruction. KTH currently has five schools and four campuses in Stockholm and the surrounding area.
KTH was founded in 1827 as the Teknologiska institutet (Institute of Technology), and its roots can be traced back to the Mekaniska skolan (School of Mechanics) in Stockholm, which was founded in 1798.
KTH is divided into five schools, each of which is responsible for instruction and research. Each school is in charge of a variety of departments, centers of excellence, and study programs.
