Lac de Guéry
The Lac de Guéry is located within the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, in the Monts Dore volcanic mountains. Because of its refreshing high altitude, lush woodland surroundings, and deep blue waters, the lake stands out as a truly remarkable spot.
The site is known for its diverse fish population, which includes trout, salmon, char, pike, and carp. If swimming and boating are restricted, fishermen flock to Lake Guéry. Every year in March, when the lake is still frozen, people go "ice fishing", which involves cutting a circle in the ice. This tradition is strictly monitored. Until the fall, traditional fishing takes priority. Hikers flock to the lake as well. In the center of an excellent natural landscape, several trails run up and along the body of water. Tours that include Lake Guéry have breathtaking mountain views.
