Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is a singer, songwriter, and actor from the United States. She is well-known for her visual transformations and musical versatility. Gaga began performing as a child by singing at open mic nights and acting in school plays. Gaga's five consecutive studio albums all debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200. Born This Way (2011), her second full-length album explored electronic rock and techno-pop and sold more than one million copies in its first week. The title tune became the iTunes Store's fastest-selling song in less than a week, with over one million downloads in less than a week. Her contributions to the latter's soundtrack, culminating in the chart-topping single "Shallow," made her the only woman to win an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Grammy Award all in the same year.
Gaga is among the best-selling musicians in the world, with an estimated 170 million records sold globally. In addition, she is the first female artist whose four singles have sold at least 10 million copies abroad. Her honors include 13 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, 18 MTV Video Music Awards, induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and distinction as Billboard's Artist of the Year (2010) and Woman of the Year (2010). She has also been on multiple Forbes power lists and was placed fourth on VH1's Greatest Women in Music (2012). Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010 and 2019 and placed her on their All-Time 100 Fashion Icons list.
