Las Lajas Sanctuary - Ipiales, Colombia

Las Lajas Sanctuary is a minor basilica located in Ipiales, located in the Southern Nariño Department of Colombia. The church is located on a 130-foot bridge that spans the Guáitara River. In addition, it is located less than seven miles from the Ecuadorian border.

Las Lajas Sanctuary is a Gothic Revival-style church built inside a gorge of the Guáitara River. Therefore, it is often called the crown jewel of engineering. This Roman Catholic church is dedicated to Our Lady of Las Lajas Ipiales.

Las Lajas Sanctuary is famous for its beautiful architecture and a series of legends related to the appearance of the Holy Virgin and a mysterious mural of which no one knows the origin.
