Luther

Luther is a British psychological criminal thriller television series developed by Neil Cross that stars Idris Elba as DCI John Luther and Ruth Wilson as Alice Morgan. John Luther is a police detective who is exceptionally competent at what he does. He works on murder cases, typically involving serial killers, and he has an amazing ability to get into the killer's mind. His tactics, personality, and difficult private life, on the other hand, sometimes cause him to conflict with his superiors, causing some to see him as a problem rather than a solution.

For his portrayal as John Luther, Elba received a Critics' Choice Television Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Elba garnered four nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his work on the show, which has received eleven Primetime Emmy Award nominations in several categories.
