Macdhui Restaurant

This cheerful and efficient facility, located in the Royal Papua Yacht Club, with beautiful views and a balcony patio facing the marina, where you can sit and watch the sun set over the sea. The food is prepared by a New Zealander chef who is quickly gaining a reputation among local expats. It includes everything from wonderful seafood to steaks and burgers, as well as pastas and curries. The portions are big, and the pricing are reasonable in this pricey city.

In the last week, I had an average breakfast and lunch experience at the Macdhui. The staff is always kind and willing to help; the meals are okay, but the salad bar is fantastic. The atmosphere is friendly, and the view, if you enjoy looking at yachts, is unrivaled in Port Moresby. The amenities are spotless, and there are plenty of parking spaces. However, the prices remind you that you are in one of the city's more costly dining establishments.
