  1. Arrive early for lunch to grab a table on the little harbourside veranda — the most atmospheric eating in town. The Madang Ocean Restaurant offers great ocean views and delicious food. The menu is dominated by Chinese food, with a few standout Filipino specialties and a mix of Western pub fare thrown in for good measure. Lunch specials range from K16 to K38 and come from either the Chinese or Western menus. Arrive early to ensure a table with a view of the ocean.

The Madang Club is right next door; you must be a member or be signed in by one, but a little bravado typically gets you past security to the Friday quiz night. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 11 am to 2 pm; 6 pm to 10 pm.

  2. In Papua New Guinea, the San Remo Club is a structure. San Remo Club is conveniently located near Liamo Reef Resort and Kimbe Stadium.

The restaurant is fantastic Because it has such a retro vibe to it. It's not far from Liamo Reef Resort and is the most 'happening' area in town. Locals and foreigners meet on the terrace to enjoy the wind, a refreshing beer while staring out at the flaming Mt Garbuna in the distance, or a well-prepared steak or chicken with chips.

On Wednesday nights, when indoor cricket is played on the tennis court, it truly comes alive!

  3. Bacchus is Airways' premium restaurant and Papua New Guinea's greatest dining experience. With starched-linen tablecloths, polished wood flooring, and crystal glasses, this restaurant in the Airways Hotel, adjacent to the international airport, is at the top of the PNG spectrum in terms of ambiance and food quality—and, of course, price. The latter can be pricey, but the food is delicious. The menu has a noticeable French lean, yet the dishes have a pan-global influence. Steaks are always a popular choice. There's also an excellent wine list to complement the food, but be prepared for a mouth-watering experience when the bill arrives. Bacchus converts every meal into a spectacular dining experience with PNG's best-stocked wine cellar and outstanding table service.

International chefs combine the freshest local produce – including PNG's famous seafood – with the finest imported ingredients to create cuisine of the highest caliber. All prices are in Kina and are inclusive of GST.

  4. This bright and beautiful dining area, located on the ground floor of the Grand Papua Hotel, features dark-stained wood and black-and-white tiled floors. The cuisine is superb, combining Asian and Pacific Rim dishes, the most of which are great. If you're having trouble deciding what to get, go for the buffet, which allows you to select and combine whatever you want. The A la Carte eating menu at the Grand Brasserie provides modern, fresh flavors that are complemented with a wine list.

There are a la carte and buffet dining options. Dine by the pool or inside, with views of the Down Town commercial district and Fairfax Harbour. Monday through Sunday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.; 12 p.m. to 3 p.m and 6 p.m to 10 p.m.

  5. This cheerful and efficient facility, located in the Royal Papua Yacht Club, with beautiful views and a balcony patio facing the marina, where you can sit and watch the sun set over the sea. The food is prepared by a New Zealander chef who is quickly gaining a reputation among local expats. It includes everything from wonderful seafood to steaks and burgers, as well as pastas and curries. The portions are big, and the pricing are reasonable in this pricey city.

In the last week, I had an average breakfast and lunch experience at the Macdhui. The staff is always kind and willing to help; the meals are okay, but the salad bar is fantastic. The atmosphere is friendly, and the view, if you enjoy looking at yachts, is unrivaled in Port Moresby. The amenities are spotless, and there are plenty of parking spaces. However, the prices remind you that you are in one of the city's more costly dining establishments.

  6. Asia Aromas, located on Stanley Esplanade on the Harbourside, serves a wide range of Asian cuisine, particularly Chinese and Thai. Asia Aromas Harbour Side West is the place to go if you're looking for fusion cuisine. It's a fantastic romantic eating setting in terms of location. This restaurant offers spectacular views of the waterfront while serving Thai and Chinese cuisine. Lemongrass Crispy Prawns and Salt and Pepper Squid are two of the most popular dishes. The signature dish is fresh steamed coral trout. While viewing the Port Moresby waterfront, savor the delectable fresh seafood dish.

This is an excellent setting for a get-together with friends or coworkers. Bring your family out for a nice lunch or supper at Asia Aromas Harbour Side West, which also caters to business travelers and corporate diners. Don't bother trying to make your own meals at your hotel; instead, bring them out for a great lunch or dinner. Asia Aromas is open seven days a week for your convenience.

  7. Mojo Social is a cool new dining spot in Port Moresby's Harbour City. In Papua New Guinea, there is one bar and restaurant that you should visit. Mojo Social isn't your typical bar; it's much more. This place has a distinct dining ambience, superb service, and won't burn a hole in your pocket whether you're having a cup of coffee or a dish of steak. You do not need to be concerned if you are a backpacker on a tight budget.

You must order the pizzas and tapas while dining at Mojo Social. They are really delectable, and this is an excellent choice for children and families seeking for a fun environment to spend time together while eating fantastic meals. The restaurant's Mediterranean and Western food, as well as its breezy atmosphere and pleasant service, make for an unforgettable dining experience.
