Magnificent landscape of lakes
Despite its small size, Kosovo boasts a diverse set of traits. There is a lot of natural variety here, from the nation's core plains and valleys to the Sharr Mountains in the southeast, the Albanian Alps in the southwest, and gorgeous lakes scattered across the country. Gazivode Lake, Fierza Reservoir, and others are among the nicest lakes in Kosovo.
Gazivoda Lake is Kosovo's largest and most picturesque lake, which you should not miss when on vacation in Kosovo. A reservoir formed by one of Europe's largest earthen dams, 24 kilometers long, in the course of the river Ibar. The lake also serves as a vital source of cooling water for the two power plants, which provide around 92 percent of Kosovo's electricity. There are various little beaches along Gazivoda, simply park your car on the road and stroll down. There's also a quiet beach between Tusice and Dragalice where you may bring your own picnic for a relaxing afternoon.
