Undiscovered tourist treasure

Pristina is Kosovo's capital and biggest city. It's also the most developed tourist destination. There are several historical structures and natural beauty locations to visit and view here. Some empires, such as Roman and Byzantine, affected the culture and architecture, and the heritage of the classical era is represented by the settlement of Ulpiana, which was regarded one of the most prominent Roman cities on the Balkan Peninsula. Some great places to see are the Newborn Monument, the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa, and others.

In Pristina, the Newborn Monument (NEWBORN) is a typographic sculpture and tourist attraction. The monument, which is located in front of the Palace of Youth and Sports, was unveiled in 2008, when Kosovo formally declared its independence from Serbia. Later, the monument was repainted with the flags of the countries that have recognized Kosovo. It was declared at the monument's installation that it will be painted differently each year on the anniversary of Kosovo's independence movement day. The monument drew the attention of international media covering Kosovo's declaration of independence, and it was prominently featured on the front page of The New York Times.

Pristina's Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa is a Roman Catholic cathedral under construction. The cathedral was finally dedicated in 2017, seven years after Mother Teresa's death. The cathedral's building provoked significant debate among Muslims, who saw it as excessive given the tiny number of Catholics in the region. Following the erection of the cathedral, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Prizren-Pristina relocated from Prizren to Pristina. The cathedral is one of the highest buildings in Pristina.
