Picturesque mountain ranges

The Republic of Kosovo is a self-proclaimed republic in the Balkan Peninsula that is only partially recognized. This gorgeous landlocked and rugged nation was originally part of Serbia, until it declared independence in 2008. Kosovo has several glacial lakes, untamed rivers, and incredible steep mountains. In Kosovo, there are 1470 named peaks. The nation features many mountains and hills, hence the climate varies based on height. Kosovo is one of the most mountainous nations in this area of Europe, with an elevation difference of nearly 2,300 meters between its highest and lowest points.

Kosovo's highest point is Velika Rudoka, while Pani's Mountain is its most conspicuous peak. The mountain range borders Borislavec from the southwest to the northeast. The eastern slopes are very steep. The western hills gently down into Ar Planina. The mountain has few valleys and few bodies of water. Rudoka has two lakes: Crno jezero (Black lake) and Belo jezero (White lake). If you want to start ascending this mountain anywhere, you should start with the Black Lake. The ground beneath the lake is steep yet green. So, as long as it's not rainy or snowy, it should be quite simple. Rudoka may be seen on the left side of the lake.

Gjeravica, also known as Eravaica, is the second-highest mountain summit in the Accursed Mountains and the Dinaric Alps series. It is Kosovo's second tallest peak. Gjeravica differs from the other Accursed Mountains in that it lacks the rocky, limestone texture that the other Accursed Mountains have. Near the peak, there are several large and tiny glacier lakes. Gjeravica and the Accursed Mountains are most renowned for their chestnut plantations. During the summer, there are also wild strawberries growing in Gjeravica.
