Marianas Winds Kite Festival & Cultural Food Fair

Another one on the list of the most famous holidays and festivals in the Northern Mariana Islands is Marianas Winds Kite Festival & Cultural Food Fair.

Every March, this food and kite festival takes place on the center ball field in American Memorial Park. Purchased kites can win three categories, handcrafted kites can win three categories, and both purchased and homemade kites can win two extra prizes. All kites in the competition must stay in the air for at least five minutes. Face painting, carnival games, and plenty of food are all part of the celebration.
