Sweet Potato Festival

This Rota celebration may be one of the newest on the Northern Mariana Islands, but it is already one of the most popular events on the island. This four-day mid-March event celebrating the sweet potato coincides with San Isidro Fiesta, a celebration of Sinapalo's patron saint.

Visitors can participate in a two-day training on how to care for and nurture this modest crop or witness a cooking competition to determine the island's best sweet potato recipes.
