May Lower Cholesterol
Your body has a chemical called cholesterol that resembles fat. While some cholesterol is necessary, excessive levels can accumulate in the blood and raise your risk of developing heart disease. It has been demonstrated that kalonji is particularly good at reducing cholesterol. According to a study of 17 trials, taking kalonji supplements was linked to significantly lower levels of blood triglycerides, total cholesterol, and "bad" LDL cholesterol. It was also intriguingly discovered that kalonji oil had a stronger impact than kalonji seed powder. Only seed powder, meanwhile, led to a rise in "good" HDL cholesterol levels.
In a different trial, kalonji supplementation for a year reduced total and LDL cholesterol while raising HDL cholesterol in 57 diabetics. Last but not least, research including 94 individuals with diabetes found that consuming 2 grams of kalonji daily for 12 weeks decreased both total and LDL cholesterol.
