McDonald's

McDonald's is an American fast food restaurant founded by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, in 1940. They changed the name of their business to a hamburger stand and later turned it into a franchise, with the Golden Arches insignia first appearing in a Phoenix, Arizona location in 1953. In 1955, businessman Ray Kroc joined the firm as a franchise agent and later purchased the McDonald Brothers' franchise. McDonald's used to be based in Oak Brook, Illinois, but the corporation moved its worldwide headquarters to Chicago in June 2018.

This firm, which has become synonymous with American fast food, was founded with the purpose of providing fast, consistent, and high-quality meals at all of its locations.

McDonald's is the world's biggest global foodservice retailer, with over 37,000 locations in over 100 countries. In more than 90% of McDonald's locations across the world, independent local businessmen and women own and operate the restaurants.

It all started when Ray Kroc became interested in the California drive-in burger eatery of brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. They kept things moving by offering only nine menu options, including a 15-cent cheeseburger. In 1955, Kroc purchased a franchise and opened the first McDonald's, and only three years later, the firm sold its 100 millionth hamburger. After buying out the brothers, Kroc grew the company to a national and international level.
