MediaTek Inc. is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that manufactures chips for wireless communications, high-definition television, handheld mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, consumer multimedia products, digital subscriber line services, and optical disc drives. The business has 25 offices worldwide and was the third largest fabless chip designer in the world in 2016. The organization also provides reference designs to its customers.In Q3 2020, MediaTek overtook Qualcomm as the leading smartphone chipset vendor, with a 31% market share. The new strategic relationship between MediaTek and Intel demonstrates the company's status as a rising star. It is a supplier to prominent smartphone and electronics makers ranging from Samsung and Xiaomi to Amazon and Sony. According to the firm and research organizations, MediaTek is also the market leader in core processing chips for Android tablets, Chromebooks, and smart TVs.
