Miss Universe Crown
It was named Mikimoto because it was designed by the official jewelry sponsor of the Miss Universe organization. The crown featured a rising phoenix, symbolizing the status, power, and beauty specified in the sponsorship contract. The crown consists of 500 diamonds weighing nearly 30 carats (6.0 g) and 120 South Sea and Akoya pearls 3 to 18 mm in diameter, priced at $250,000. The crown was designed for the Mikimoto Pearl Island competition in Japan. Mikimoto's crown and tiara were first used in the 2002 Miss Universe pageant.
A few months after wearing the new crown-Mikimoto, Fedorova was the first Miss Universe deposed. Miss Universe 2002-2007: designed the crown where Mikimoto reigned from 2002-2007. She imitated the rising phoenix. The crown is worth $250,000.
