Moana (2016)
Ranking the seventh on the list of best princess movies ever made is no other than Moana. It was a much-anticipated film due to its depiction of Polynesian culture and original songs written by Lin Manuel. It also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a shape-shifting demigod named Maui, who sings and acts.
Moana, the independent daughter of a village chief, is the focus of the film. Moana, a Polynesian princess, sets out to make amends with Maui, the ancient demigod whose curse threatens her island. She embarks on a voyage to see Maui and returns an ancient relic to a goddess known as Te Fiti. In doing so, she protects her town from the threat of Te K's darkness.
