Mount Pilatus
Mount Pilatus is a well-known mountain in Lucerne with a very pleasant mountain station at 2128 meters level. To reach there, you may use a cable car or trek it, although the hike will take you three hours. If you wish to take a cable car, head to Kriens and enjoy the journey - it will take more than half an hour, and on the way up to the top, you may stop at a couple of sites with restaurants, playgrounds for kids, and other enjoyable things.
On top, there is a hotel, a restaurant, hiking routes, wonderful photo opportunities, and a souvenir shop. It is October, and it may get rather cool up there, and the wind is not uncommon, so bring a jacket. As is customary in Switzerland, such mountain stations include everything you might want: a hotel, a restaurant, several souvenir stores, and so on. When you go out, you will see a handful of opportunities to walk even higher - make use of them. The views from the top of the summit are spectacular. It is very steep to get to the top, but if you take it easy, it’s just a few minutes and you will get the best Mount Pilatus can offer.
