Munich Airport
Munich Airport is an international airport that serves the region of Upper Bavaria. It is the second busiest airport in Germany, behind Frankfurt Airport, and the tenth busiest airport in Europe, with 47.9 million passengers handled in 2019. In terms of international passenger traffic, it is the world's 15th busiest airport, and it was the world's 38th busiest airport in 2018. It is a hub for Lufthansa, as well as its subsidiaries Lufthansa CityLine, Air Dolomiti, and Eurowings, and a base for Condor and TUI fly Deutschland.
Transfer passengers find Munich Airport to be one of the most efficient terminals in the world. Customers will be guided through baggage claim areas and to departure gates, while travelers coming from non-Schengen countries will be sent through passport control. They have a good immigration service, as well as a 'Napcabs' compact hotel room in T2's transit area. If an incoming passenger's flight is delayed, Ramp or Gate Direct Service (RDS / GDS) picks them up by bus at their air carrier, along with their bags, and transports them directly to the connecting flight (if customs/passport control is required, passengers will pass through a special ramp-side checkpoint).
In the event of major delays due to inclement weather or other reasons, Munich has you covered with cozy cots to sleep on. If you don’t wish to sleep in public, there are numerous hotels at the airport to choose from. Munich also offers a spa, showers, an aircraft museum, cinema, minigolf, and many more great amenities to pass time and find comfort while passing through.
