Zurich Airport
Top 5 in Top 9 Best Airports
Zurich Airport is Switzerland's largest international airport and the main hub of Swiss International Air Lines. It serves Zürich, Switzerland's largest city, as well as most of the remainder of the nation via surface transportation links. The airport lies 13 kilometers (8 miles) north of the city center of Zürich.
Zurich Airport is split into two sections: the Airport Center and the Airside Center. Landside activities such as check-in desks and security checks are housed in the Airport Center. The Airside Center serves as the central point for the three terminal/gate areas: A, B/D, and E. Terminal E is situated in a separate structure to which the Skymetro subterranean rail connects. Terminal A will be replaced by a new facility, which is now under development, when it is completed in 2021.
Dining and shopping are numerous (though pricey), but many close by 10:00 p.m. Plan ahead of time for late-night munchies, as no restaurants are open 24 hours. Other features include free WiFi, a designated rest space with reclining chairs for resting and pay-to-use showers. Passengers in economy class can pay to enter a few airport lounges.
