National Rail Museum
The National Rail Museum, which is located in Chanakyapuri, attempts to conserve India's 163-year-old railway legacy. The National Train Museum, sometimes known as the National Railway Museum, is a 10-acre museum that exhibits some fantastic railway relics. The Rail Museum, which opened on February 1, 1977, has an intriguing collection of over 100 life-size displays of Indian railroads, both operating and static, antiques, furniture, and other items. Adults and children can ride on a few mock specimens. Aside from the large outdoor area, which contains the well-known 'Fairy Queen', the world's oldest operating steam locomotive, the museum now offers a 3D virtual train trip, a steam loco simulator, and an inside exhibition.
The museum, which is set among lush green gardens in a tranquil neighborhood, celebrates India's rich old railway legacy. The informational tablet located directly next to the exhibitions adds to the value of the visit. The building adjacent to the museum houses some stunning images of the golden era of train transportation. Some small models sit nearby, all of which are forbidden from being photographed. It also features a 200-seat theater where workshops are held on occasion and documentaries are broadcast. In addition, the museum offers an on-site souvenir shop where you may buy little trinkets on your way out.
