Shankar's International Dolls Museum
Shankar's International Dolls Museum, located in the Children's Book Trust Building on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, is a children's wonderland. Shankar's Museum is one of the city's most prominent tourist attractions; the museum's concept was conceived by famed cartoonist K. Shankar Pillai. The repository, which is divided into two parts, contains almost 160 shelves filled with dolls from all around the world. The museum was founded in 1965 with just about 500 dolls; however, it currently has a collection of over 6500 dolls from over 85 nations, 500 of which are from India's various states.
The museum, which covers 5000 square feet, is divided into two sections: one for dolls from Western countries and another for dolls from India and Asian countries. It also features a workshop where visitors may learn how to make dolls. The dollhouse contains a variety of themes, including a man on the moon, Mexican aborigines, and a Japanese kabuki dancer, among others. Shankar's Museum is the country's largest of its type. The museum is popular with tourists all year and is considered the greatest option for a family day out.
