National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI)

The National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) is ranked ninth in our list of the top ten best universities in Russia, according to QS World University Rankings, and is located at Kashira Hwy, 31, Moscow, Russia, 115409.

The Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) of the National Research Nuclear University is a non-profit public Russian university. The MEPhI educational institution, on which the university was founded, was founded in 1942, and the institute was renamed the National Nuclear Research University in 2008. The university is located in Moscow, the Russian Federation's capital.

The university has almost 7,000 students enrolled. The university's academic faculty consists of 1223 instructors. Other states are represented by 9% of the students. The university is placed tenth in the national rating and 580th in the worldwide ranking.

NRNU "MEPhI" refers to the country's top universities. Its alumni go on to work for important government agencies such as the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and RosAtom. Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, and Samsung are just a few of the multinational companies with whom the institution collaborates. Students and professors can participate in exchange programs with American, Japanese, and European higher education institutions. NRIA is home to a working nuclear reactor. This enables students to carry out experiments and research the behavior of radioactive particles under various settings. As part of the Intel initiative, the institution hosts a youth tournament each year. In 1997, it was the first time such an event was held. Six Nobel laureates, 50 scientists (including twenty-nine members of the Russian Academy of Sciences), and three cosmonauts attended the school at various periods.

Students, researchers, and instructors at NRNU (MEPhI) have traditionally been known for their high-quality research. Not just research, but also startling discoveries, are among their accomplishments:

  • Dark matter is made up of particles that were previously unknown to science. Collaboration with Italian experts led to this breakthrough.
  • The "Lily of the Valley" gadget was created for painless endoscopy.
  • According to the Russian Academy of Sciences, the most important study in the subject of nanotechnology in 2009 was conducted by NRNU specialists in the field of diffusion processes in nanocrystalline materials.
  • Nuclear fuel tablets have improved.
  • Making a neutroabsorbent substance that can be employed in nuclear reactor building.

A library, a well-developed sports infrastructure, apartment-style dorms, restaurants, and cafés are all available to students. At the university, all circumstances are in place for sports: stadiums, sports halls, and fitness facilities. There are also sporting clubs for a variety of sports (gymnastics, rugby, sambo, football and mountaineering).
