Tomsk State University has won numerous accolades for its contributions to the establishment and advancement of the nation's science, education, and culture. TSU was added to the State Code of Particularly Valuable Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation by Presidential decree in 1998. TSU was designated as a National Research University in 2010.
On May 28, 1878, Emperor Alexander II signed a proclamation establishing the Siberian Imperial University in Tomsk, the first and only higher education institution in the enormous regions stretching from the Russian Urals to the Pacific Ocean.
The universitiy has a total of 20 faculties and educational institutes. Master's degree programs are available in 54 specializations (including English programmes). In Siberia and Kazakhstan, there are 152 departments and 38 preuniversity training and vocational counseling centers. There are approximately 16,000 students (and about 2,000 international students).

TSU International Student Centre will assist students in maximizing their social and educational benefits, as well as their experience of studying and living at TSU. National Investigation Tomsk State University developed one of the city's largest student living complexes (1,200 places). Students are supplied with a nice living environment, which includes dining rooms, kitchens, sports and laundry facilities, as well as all required social infrastructure. You will share a room with one or two other students at the hostel, which is divided into parts. Every room has a corridor, a bathroom, and a shower. There is space in the large hall for self-study, relaxation, and mingling.
The Tomsk State University Research Library will participate in the All-Russian activity Library Night for the fourth time. Visitors will be able to take a typical tour of the robot scanner and book restorers on April 22nd from 20.00 to 23.00, as well as new locations, workshops, meetings, and quests.
TSU Assembly Hall, known for its superb acoustics, holds classical music concerts. The Concert Hall, located in the Center of Culture, serves as a venue for TSU theatrical clubs, student performances, and guest performances. Tomsk State University provides state-of-the-art sports facilities and complexes where you can participate in a wide range of sports. The University is home to a branch of Rotary Club International as well as other local student volunteer clubs that are active participants in the city and the University's life. The International Division provides assistance to student language clubs in English, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and German.
