Pescatarian diet

A pescatarian diet consists of fish and is based on vegetables. The prefix originated from the Italian word “pesce”, meaning fish. A typical pescatarian diet is primarily vegetarian with the addition of seafood. The diet excludes other meats like beef, chicken, or pork while allowing fish-based dishes like tuna, halibut, salmon, or sushi.

It varies from person to person if a pescatarian diet includes dairy products and eggs. Getting beneficial omega-3 fatty acids from fish and seafood is a perk of a pescatarian diet. Plant-based diets have numerous known advantages, such as a reduced risk of obesity and serious diseases including diabetes and heart disease. Many of those protective benefits may also be obtained from a pescatarian diet, according to a study.
