Planet Money
Consider calling a friend and saying, "Meet me at the bar and tell me what's up with the economy." Now assume that you're having a good time. That's what they're aiming for here at Planet Money.
Planet Money finds creative, entertaining ways to make sense of the significant, complicated forces that move our economy. That's why they made a t-shirt and traced the supply chain worldwide from cotton field to factory; bought 100 barrels of crude oil--paying cash out of a briefcase for fun. Then followed it from ground to gas tank; launched a satellite; built an adorable algorithmic trading Twitter bot, adopted an abandoned superhero, and made a merchandising empire.
Since Planet Money launched in 2008 during the financial crisis. It has won many awards, including a Peabody and an Edward R. Murrow Award, for our investigation into Wells Fargo's retaliation against whistle-blowers. You can also hear Planet Money stories on Morning Edition. Planet Money hosts Amanda Aronczyk, Erika Beras, Mary Childs, Jacob Goldstein, Sarah Gonzalez, Alexi Horowitz-Ghazi, and Kenny Malone.
