Radiolab
Experienced podcast listeners may be rolling their eyes at this seemingly (painfully) apparent decision. Like Freakonomics Radio and NPR's Ted Radio Hour, Radiolab is the classic educational podcast. However, I felt it was necessary to raise the flag for anyone new to the podcasting industry (also, it would be downright disrespectful not to mention it because the show is just that good). Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich present the widely syndicated radio show and podcast Radiolab. The show delves into various scientific and philosophical themes in a delightfully approachable manner.
The program is expertly produced, and its rhythm and style, mainly owing to the solid narrative emphasis and imaginative sound design, distinguish it. You never know what the next episode will be about; previous episodes have looked at how we see color and unpacked the notion of responsibility. The unusual themes and Abumrad and Krulwich's magic touch create an immersive, instructive, and unique experience.
Radiolab is on a quest for knowledge. They ask probing questions and rely on investigative journalism to get answers. In any particular episode, it may whisk you through science, legal history, and into the home of someone halfway around the world. The show is noted for its creative sound design, which incorporates information into music. Jad Abumrad, Lulu Miller, and Latif Nasser present the show.
Radiolab is available on Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and other podcast platforms. Check the airtimes on your local station. It is also accessible on CBC, ABC, and BBC.
