Praia de Pipa Beach
Pipa Beach is a well-known Brazilian beach in the north-east of the country, particularly popular among kitesurfers. It's hardly unexpected that its name translates to "Kite Beach," yet the location was once known by other names that wonderfully described the surrounding landscapes: "Painted Cliff" and "Cape Verde." The beach is located in Tibau do Sul, on the fringes of the fishing community of Pipa, near Natal.
Pipa Beach is known for its:
- Crystal clear warm waters ideal for diving;
- Very fine light sand on the shore and bottom of the sea;
- High, 10 metre cliffs surrounding the coast;
- Huge strong waves and stable winds all year round, attracting experienced kites and surfers
However, keep in mind that there are strong underwater currents to be aware of when swimming here. As a result, the Pipa Beach is a haven for young people who enjoy intense water sports, but not ideal for family vacations (and especially with children). The beach's lengthy shoreline is rarely crowded, but this Brazilian beach can rightly be described as cosmopolitan, with visitors from all over the world. The southernmost part of the beach is ideal for surfing.
