Santos Beach

Santos is a big port and a major transportation hub on the way to Sao Paulo; it's even known as Brazil's primary sea gate. As a result, getting to the same-named beach will be simple. It is 120 kilometers from the Sao Paulo-Guarulhos Airport.

The beach is sandy and has a flat bottom and shore. Sand may appear dirty due to its grey hue, yet this is its natural color, which is what distinguishes it. Holidaymakers walk barefoot on the beach since there are no sharp stones or sticks, and the beach is cleaned routinely. There are both deep and shallow water areas here. Entry into the sea is gentle and long, the depth starts far from the shore.

Santos Beach is a surfer's heaven when it comes to waves and wind. The long and powerful waves reach the beach, but due to the large and extensive beach area, even children are splashing at the edge of the ocean, not straying too far ahead. The beach attracts a wide range of people, including water sports enthusiasts, young families, rowdy groups of youngsters, senior couples, and singles "on the lookout" for new acquaintances. At the same time, foreigners are uncommon here – most visitors are locals – so your chances of being mistaken for a newcomer are much smaller than elsewhere on the beaches around Rio de Janeiro.
