Project Management for Development
One of the challenges that governments, public organizations, nongovernmental organizations, development agencies, and other stakeholders in Latin America and the Caribbean face on a daily basis is turning proposals into concrete realities that improve society's well-being and provide results within the time and resource constraints.
This course teaches project management principles and techniques that can be used to make significant changes and accomplish desired objectives with minimal resources. This MOOC improves participants' ability to handle government and social projects (such as nonprofit and civil society projects) in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
70 percent of students who took the course said it improved their abilities to develop, implement, and/or evaluate public policy. The course is based on the PM4R methodology of the Inter-American Development Bank and the PMBOK® Guide, Sixth Edition of the PMI®. The Institutional Capacity Strengthening Fund (ICSF) financed the production of this course, due to a gift from the Government of the People's Republic of China.
This course is "self-paced," which means you can join at any moment, even if it has been open for some time. Within the course's enrolment period, you can take it whenever is most convenient for you.
