Qianlong, the sixth emperor of the Qing dynasty, reigned from 1735 to 1796 and held ultimate power until his death in 1799. For his life, the weapon he carried had to be fit for such a ruler and valued as a royal treasure. So it's understandable that Qianlong Imperial Hunting Knife is the most expensive medieval weapon ever.
The Qianlong Imperial Hunting Knife is his Royal Hunting Knife that has a blade made from gold inlaid with turquoise, coral, and blue while the hilt is made of antelope horns with a secret opening for access. chopsticks and toothpicks – that's where it must have been inspired by the Swiss Army Knife. The scabbard of the knife is made from a rhino horn, decorated with the shape of six dragons flying through the clouds above the waves. This most expensive knife was sold at Sotheby's for $1.24 million.
