Taurine is an amino acid that is naturally present in the body, notably in the heart, blood, retina and developing brain. Scallops contain this amino acid. Although taurine is not an essential amino acid, some researchers have referred to it as "conditionally essential" due to its role in numerous critical processes, including the regulation and modulation of calcium, the production of bile acids, the stabilization of membranes, and healthy immune function.
Taurine is generally consumed by humans through fish. Compared to meat, seafood has greater concentrations of amino acid. It has been demonstrated that taurine lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. Additionally, it has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory benefits on disorders linked to lifestyle. There isn't a lot of research on taurine's advantages. To support the taurine-related health promotion mechanisms, more human studies are still required.
