Rio On Waterfalls & Pools

Rio On Waterfalls & Pools is situated in the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, off the main road, close to Cayo in western Belize (before reaching Augustine Village). Rio on Pools is frequently described as Belize's most enticing swimming hole, along with the falls that surround it. Despite appearing to be waterfalls, they are actually a succession of natural pools situated along a slowly flowing river that is covered in big, ovoid stones. Instead of the traditional waterfalls, you may expect, this one is a slow-moving river that meanders over enormous granite boulders and empties into a series of pools that are connected by natural waterslides as it travels downstream. And a vast, thick pine forest surrounds the entire area. The scene revealed from the riverbank high above is absolutely breathtaking.

Visitors are transported to a swimming pool wonderland by taking a short trek down to the river.
