San Francisco, California
Charles Dickens was recognized for his love of the holiday season. In honor of the author and the characters he created, the Cow Palace Exhibition Halls transform into a recreation of Victorian London from Thanksgiving to Christmas every year.
The Dickens Christmas Fair includes replicas of the streets of London, full of vendors and shops, lamplight, restaurants and tearooms with a Dickens theme. In order to blend in with the many costumed actors who roam the streets in character, shoppers and visitors frequently attend in character and embrace the mood. Visitors can also catch live theater shows and enjoy live music. The Fog City Flea, which hosts dozens of events and vendors, is another must-try thing in San Francisco. From December 5 through December 19, the renowned Ferry Building will be the site of this wonderful market every Sunday. Meet a variety of sellers and craftspeople when you visit this market. You will enjoy looking around and buying quality clothes, stylish accessories, handmade jewelry, beautiful houseware, furnishings, and more.
