Santa Barbara Falls
Santa Barbara is a picturesque waterfall that cascades down to a glistening blue lake after ascending 98 feet (30 meters) into the sky. Anyone wishing to swim in the colorful waters of this waterfall, which is part of the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, must be accompanied by a local guide.
It is not easily accessible because you must first drive to the quilombo village of Kalunga, then a local guide will take you on a 30-minute hike down a simple track. You might want to continue the journey in a Pau de Arara, an unofficial truck where people sit behind in the open, depending on the vehicle you're driving.
It's vital to remember that the tour leader can stop at a nearby eatery so you can place an order for lunch. The distance is great, but the falls are worth the trip. Bring water, a hat, and memory cards because after shooting so many pictures of this breathtaking waterfall in Brazil, your camera might run out of space.
