Sardinia
If you love surfing, then Sardinia is the place for you. It has some of the best waves in the Mediterranean and has become a popular destination for surfers from all over Europe. Plus, it's also one of Italy's most beautiful islands. It is even called little Australia by some surf enthusiasts.
The wave is most stable in the winter months (i.e.November - April). The best time to surf is from December to February as this is when wind conditions tend to be milder than usual. Also known as “La Festa dei Moros” or “Red Whale Festival,” this long weekend hosts a whale festival from November 1 to 5. In the summer, you can relax on the beach on sunny days and enjoy the waves on the windy beach. It also has many cultural sites and hiking trails that you can explore while on the island.
The West coast in Sardinia is where the magic happens. That long, zigzag coastline is perfectly positioned to suck up anything created by wind or ocean waves refracting to the west. This is the golden time when local professional surfers will be present and compete with each other.
