Smart House (1999)

Although it may appear to be commonplace now, in 1999, children's minds were filled with wonder about what it would be like to live in a computerized home. That was the premise of Smart House, one of the Disney Channel's first original films.

The film, which starred Katey Sagal, told the story of the Coopers, who move into a "smart home" that begins to take on a life of its own. Cheesy? Yes, especially by today's standards, but it's still a nice little snippet of what made Disney Channel original movies so special.

Ariana Bacle of Entertainment Weekly ranked Smart House first on a list of the top 30 Disney Channel Original Movies in December 2015. Aubrey Page of Collider ranked each Disney Channel Original Movie released up to that point in May 2016. Smart House was ranked third by Page.
