The Cheetah Girls (2003)
Before High School Musical danced its way into the hearts of pre-teens, there was no bigger DCOM movie than The Cheetah Girls. It was more than just a regular Disney movie when it debuted in 2003; it was an event, and it remains one of the best-produced original films Disney has made for the channel.
The Cheetah Girls, starring Raven-Symone and Adrienne Bailon, had it all: killer music, killer dance moves, and a tried-and-true storyline about just trying to make it big while maintaining a friendship. The Cheetah Girls, a four-member teen girl group, attend a Manhattan high school for the performing arts and attempt to become the school's first freshmen to win the talent show. During the talent show auditions, they meet a big-time producer named Jackal Johnson, who tries to make the girls superstars, but the girls run into a slew of issues. Galleria becomes a full-time snob and forgets her friends, Dorinda must choose between her friends and the dance club, and other events threaten to permanently separate the Cheetah Girls.
