St. Mark's School of Texas
The Independent Schools Association of the Southwest has accredited the St. Mark's School of Texas, a nonsectarian preparatory day school for boys in grades 1–12 in Dallas, Texas, United States. St. Mark's was rated in 2016 as having one of the ten most beautiful high school campuses in the state. After graduation, 100% of students from this school go on to attend a 4-year college.
The titles of the buildings that are neatly dispersed on its 42-acre North Dallas campus indicate the spread of interests outside of science. The school's 904 pupils are split between first and twelfth grades in 2021, with 412 in the Upper School, 342 in the Middle School, and 152 in the Lower School. The typical class size is 16 students, with an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
One national rating organization has determined that St. Mark's is the top K-12 private school and the finest boys school in the country for the previous three years (2019-2021). SM is also the finest private school in the state, as well as the best high school (public or private) for STEM, according to the same group (science, technology, engineering, and math). St. Mark's has dismissed such rankings, stating that no school is the ideal match for every kid and, more pragmatically, that there is no way to compare schools from various locations with distinct strengths, limits, student bodies, and educational aims in a meaningful way.
