The Brearley School
The Brearley School is a New York City all-girls private school located in the Upper East Side area of Manhattan. The school is organized into three sections: lower (kindergarten–grade 4), middle (grades 5–8), and upper (grades 9–12), each having 50 to 60 pupils.
Brearley is a sister school of the all-boys Collegiate School, the all-girls Spence School, and the adjacent all-girls Chapin School, with whom it shares an after-school program and certain programs, in addition to being a member of the New York Interschool Association.
The Wall Street Journal placed Brearley second in the country in 2008, based on a ranking of students matriculating to eight colleges and institutions. Forbes recognized it as the second-best prep school in the US and the top all-girls institution in 2013. Brearley was rated the second-best girl's school in the country and the fifth-best private K-12 school in the country in a 2019-20 study.
