Trinity School, New York City

Trinity School, New York City (commonly known as Trinity) is a highly selective private, preparatory, co-educational day school for grades K–12 in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York, United States. It is a member of both the New York Interschool and the Ivy Preparatory School League. It is considered one of the most prestigious private high schools in the United States, with over 40% of graduating students attending Ivy League and other top universities.

The school, which was founded in 1709 at the former Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall Street, is the sixth oldest in the United States and the city's oldest continuously operating school. Its admissions procedure is quite tough. The New York Times stated in 2011 that Trinity's kindergarten admission rate was 2.4 percent, and the high school acceptance percentage was similar.

Trinity is also known for having a strong Classics department, usually regarded as one of the best in the country. Nearly 40 percent of students study Latin or Greek, while more than 60 percent study both languages. After graduation, 100% of students from this school go on to attend a 4-year college.
