Strawberry
People often know strawberries through a default shape that is small and fits the hand. But besides that, many parts of the world have also successfully bred large-sized strawberry varieties. In 2016, Anthony Snell of Herefordshire picked a big strawberry on his fruit farm which weighed 0.19 pounds 90 g and it became the biggest ever grown strawberry here. In 1983, G. Anderson grew the biggest strawberry in the world in Kent weighing 0.51 pounds or 231g. Most recently, Mr. Koji Nakao, a Japanese farmer, has grown a strawberry weighing 250g, the height of 8 cm (3.15 in), length of 12 cm (4.72 in), and circumference of 25 to 30 cm. This unusually large fruit was discovered during harvest.
Strawberry is a succulent berry, with a sweet aroma, eye-catching bright red color, it is used to make nutritious drinks or as a flavoring ingredient for various pastries around the world. However, Westerners also come in many different varieties and come in different price ranges. Besides, strawberries are also ranked in the top of the most expensive fruits in the world, when Kotoka strawberries are sold for 22 USD.
