Studio Pierrot
A former animator and director for Tatsunoko Production, Yuji Nunokawa founded the Japanese animation studio Pierrot Co., Ltd. in May 1979. Its corporate offices are in Tokyo's Mitaka district. The anime series Naruto, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho, Black Clover, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Tokyo Ghoul, Ghost Tales, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Saiyuki are among those for which Pierrot is recognized.
Clown's face appears in the company's logo. The Japanese word for clown, "Piero," was borrowed from the famous Pierrot figure. Two of the company's anime series, Yu Yu Hakusho and Saiyuki, won the Animage Anime Grand Prix Prize in 1994, 1995, and 2000, respectively.
