Super Mario Run

Super Mario Run is an auto-running platformer, which means Mario will jog ahead and vault over small obstacles such as bricks and Goombas without your intervention. You'll have to become involved at some point because there are obstacles to overcome. The brilliant thing is that Nintendo has created a complex set of acrobatic techniques that you can access by tapping the screen at various intervals. Tap while leap-frogging a Goomba to do a spin-kick; tap in mid-air to perform a double jump; and hold down to perform a high jump.

The key to the game is to combine these moves correctly. Sure, you could reach the finish of one of the game's 24 World Tour stages without doing any spectacular tricks, but why did you buy it in the first place? Furthermore, you will miss out on the majority of the game's features. Each level has collected coins to put your acrobatic skills to the test, beginning with five pink coins and progressing to purple and then black, with each color being much, much tougher to obtain than the last - especially since you can't actually go backward if you miss one.
