Tat Somphamit
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Laos is Tat Somphamit, also known as Li Phi Falls, is a rushing sequence of rapids off the western edge of Si Phan Don, between the two islands of Don Xang and Don Khon, and is only a few kilometers from the Cambodian border. Locals believe the falls to be a trap for evil spirits (of dead people and animals) as they flow down the river, hence the name Li Phi, which means "spirit trap". One of South-East Asia's most magnificent waterfalls is Tat Somphamit. Tat Somphamit, which is more of a collection of cascades than one large waterfall, is an impressive sight and a must-see for those who enjoy waterfalls.
Tat Somphamit is a never-ending succession of furious rapids and water waterfalls. A picturesque scene is created by the brown rocks that the blue sea delightfully contrasts against. The region is thoughtfully designed with pathways, wooden bridges, and photogenic viewing areas. There is a beach for a relaxing swim as well as a cafe and other amenities.
